Students communicate in team channels. Access depends on active, approved team membership and conversation permissions. Approved adult team members retain access for oversight, including private channels.

Direct messages are for adults.
Direct messages are limited to two approved, active adult members of the same team. Students cannot use direct messages, including private adult-to-student messages.
Reports go to authorized reviewers.
When an eligible reviewer is available, members can report a message to a team administrator or teacher who already has access to the conversation. The reported author cannot review the report.
Deletion preserves records.
Deleted messages appear as placeholders. Original content is retained and is not shown in normal conversations or report reviews. Retention does not give team administrators access to deleted content.
Authorized district review.
Access to retained deleted content for future authorized district review is not yet available. Current retention should not be understood as a review or export feature.
